Not every wedding day goes according to plan and often the carefully planned timeline gets thrown out the window. There isn’t much you can do other than roll with what the day throws at you. Danielle & Ryan’s Prince Edward County wedding was one of my all time favourite weddings. When you are surrounded by lake views, gorgeous vineyards and your closest family and friends you can’t go wrong.
This was one of those weddings where even though things ran late and the sky was threatening thunderstorms all day, everything seemed to perfectly fall into place.
Sitting just south of Belleville Ontario, Hillier Creek Estates was the perfect setting for Danielle and Ryan’s Prince Edward County wedding. The tent was absolutely perfect for the ceremony. Thank goodness the rain actually held off! The shade in the tent was a lovely spot on a hot and humid summer afternoon.
Since our morning preparations took longer than planned and resulted in a delayed ceremony, we didn’t have as much time as expected for formal portraits. I strongly feel that all my couples should spend their cocktail hour with their guests rather than spending that time with me. This is something I learned from my own wedding. The cocktail hour is a time to great your guests and spend quality time with your closest family and friends. Wedding days go by so fast and once a reception starts it’s not easy to connect with everyone.
We ended up splitting our portrait sessions up and managed to get a few after the ceremony and then again at sunset. Sneaking out during dinner to catch the sunset over the vineyard only took about 10 minutes and we managed to get the most stunning portraits!
The a few highlights from this day for me was the epic dance party, the grandparents cutting a rug all night long & the Momofuku Cake made by Ryan’s mother.
