FAQ

I call Haliburton, Ontario home. I love having the ability to living in a rural setting & at the same time frequent the city for work.

Where are you based?

I like to keep my pricing very simple. My average wedding includes 8 hours of wedding day coverage. The cost is $3895 +hst. This includes a private web gallery & a custom USB with your high-resolution images.

How much does is cost to hire you?

The one thing that I focus on in my work is EMOTION. I want my clients to look at their photographs and be taken back to that moment. A photograph can evoke so many feelings & if it is a genuine moment that is captured it does this so well. I work in a mainly documentary style. However, I do step in and give direction when needed. Many of the images in my portfolio were prompted with direction and naturally, a genuine moment is the result.

How would you describe your style?

Do we need a second photographer?

I tend to recommend that clients hire a second photographer for larger weddings. Having two photographers has a few benefits including having two points of view for the ceremony and reception, morning preparations at two locations & capturing the cocktail reception if formal portraits are scheduled at this time.

How many photos will we receive?

You can expect to receive 75-100 images per hour of shooting. Resulting in around 800 images for 8 hours of wedding day coverage.

Absolutely! Nothing gets me more excited than to see my clients displaying their photographs in their homes. With that said, I do offer archival-quality printing at a reasonable cost. It is important to me that your photographs don’t fade through the years.

Can we print our own photos?

Yes! I am proud to offer my clients luxurious yet affordable albums that are custom bound and finished by hand in the style of traditional bookmakers. These beautifully made albums are archival quality and will last for generations.

More information about albums here.

Can you help us create a wedding album?

To reserve your wedding date, I ask for a 25% retainer and the remaining 75% is due on your wedding day.

Do you require a deposit?

How long will it take to receive our finished photos?

You can expect to receive your wedding gallery 4-6 weeks after your wedding date. This varies depending on the season.

Engagement & family portraits are delivered within 2 weeks.

Are all the photos edited?

Yes. I spend hours & sometimes days editing your photos. All your photographs are edited with my personal style to match my portfolio.

Yes. I have many clients who keep me coming back to document their growing families.

Do you photograph anything else other than weddings?

For clients that are uncomfortable having their picture taken, an engagement session is a great icebreaker and can result in a more relaxed wedding day.

I’m not sure if we need an engagement session. Do you recommend having one?

I do photograph a few weddings outside of Ontario each year. You can expect to pay a travel fee that includes airfare & 2-3 nights of accommodation. With that said, I do travel often and have booked weddings at destinations that were already on my schedule. A win, win for both of us!!

Do you travel outside of Ontario?

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

We carry on and enjoy the day. But really, some of my most memorable weddings were the ones with thunderstorms threatening all day. It can be a challenge but the end result is usually the most beautiful images from that soft overcast light that comes with a rainy day forecast.

With that said if it is too wet to be outside, I am very comfortable working in any type of lighting situation. Whether we have to find and indoor location in a dimly lit room or if we need to use an external flash to compensation for a lack of daylight, I’m experienced enough to not let situations like rain affect the quality of your images.

What methods of payment do you accept?

I prefer email transfer or a good old-fashioned cheque.

How long have you been photographing weddings?

I actually studied photography at Sheridan College graduating in 2004. Weddings have been my primary focus for the last 5 years though. Shooting an average of 20 weddings per year.
